The exhibition “Hyperrealism. Ceci n'est pas un corps” offers for the first time a condensed overview of the hyperrealist movement with a selection of more than 40 sculptures by major international artists.
Reality, art or copy? The artists seek to achieve such a meticulous representation of the bodies that their hyperrealist appearance transports us to the border of reality. They imitate the shapes, contours and textures of the human body in order to offer a perfect illusion.
Hyperrealism is an artistic movement that appeared in the 1960s in the United States and whose techniques have since been explored by many contemporary artists.
Using traditional techniques such as modelling, molding and applying polychrome paint to the surface of sculptures, hyperrealist artists create works of art that are unexpected, disconcerting, often amusing and always meaningful. Hyperrealism presents us with a mirror that reflects our tormented times.
Find more details about hyperrealism and about each sculpture presented in the exhibition in our visitor's guide here.

On the 25th of March 2022, the exhibition 'Hyperréalisme. Ceci n'est pas un corps' has been visited completely naked. Tempora, in collaboration with the French Federation of Naturism, organized a naked edition after its success in other European cities like Brussels and Rotterdam, and once again, visitors loved it !
The naked visits are coming back on the 3 July 2022 during 3 special sessions at 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm !
In a naturist context, we do not 'show', we do not show off, we simply 'are'. A return to basics, detached from appearances, allowing visitors to fully experience the visit in an original way.
In June 2022, nighttime visits will take place every wednesday! The exhibition will exceptionally be accessible until 9pm on those days (last entry at 8pm).
In the shop, discover books, decorations or stationery on hyperrealism, as well as exclusive items related to the works exhibited !
You will also find a space dedicated to Pop Art, an artistic movement inseparable and contemporary from hyperrealism, as well as creations by artists inspired by these artistic movements.
In addition: the Little Prince adventure continues in Lyon.
You will also find a 'Little Prince' space presenting the items that made the dream of the visitors of the exhibition Antoine de Saint Exupéry, a Little Prince among Men,presented by Tempora at La Sucrière in 2021.
